Flood of visitors not giving cricketer Rishabh Pant time to rest: Family

DEHRADUN: Cricketer

Rishabh Pant

, undergoing treatment at Dehradun's

Max Hospital

 after a severe car

accident

on Friday, is hardly getting any time to rest as a steady stream of visitors, including legislators, ministers, officials and even actors, keep trooping in to see him. His family has expressed concern that people are coming in to meet him "irrespective of the prescribed visiting hours".

A medical team member taking care of Pant's treatment told TOI on Sunday, "It is important that Rishabh gets sufficient time to rest, not just physically but mentally too. He is still in pain due to the injuries sustained in the accident. He has to speak to visitors, which drains his energy that should be preserved for faster recovery. People planning to visit him should avoid it for now and let him rest."

Another staff member at the hospital's administrative wing said, "There is no mechanism in place to filter visitors for Pant."

Hospital visiting hours are from 11am to 1pm and 4pm to 5pm and only one visitor can meet a patient at any given time. Rishabh Pant’s case is a high-profile one due to which more visitors are streaming in and hence this problem,” the staff member added.

Actors Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor, fellow

cricketer

Nitish Rana and Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar as well a s local administration officials have met Pant in the ICU ward where he is undergoing treatment. A team of Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), led by its director, Shyam Sharma, had also met him on Saturday.
